Through my MD and BSc work, I gained experienced in a broad range of biological laboratory techniques, including experimental physiology, molecular biology and biochemistry, cell culture and tissueslice work. In post-doctoral positions I have also acquired in vivo experience,as well as gaining further training/experience in neuropathology and HPLC, and previously lead a laboratory based group recognized internationally working in recentyears on seizure related brain damage, and novel treatment approaches torefractory epilepsy in experimental models. I have also been involved as acollaborator in a number of multicentre clinical trials and genetic studies. I have now moved away from laboratory work, and am developing clinical projects, in particular in relation to statusepilepticus, functional non-epileptic attack disorder and service provision.
